Lambrate
The Lambrate district (“quartiere”) of Milan takes its name from the River Lambro that runs through it. One of the city’s major railway stations, Stazione di Milano Lambrate, is located there. The district is also well known for Parco Lambro, a large urban park that dates back to 1934. The iconic Lambretta motor scooter was designed and manufactured in Lambrate, and named after the district, as is the Birrificio Lambrate, a craft brewery that started up in 1996. Lambrate is a “home away from home” for many students from around the world as the district is very near to the Polytechnic University.
